The brief was to remove the existing conservatory and replace it with a contemporary single-storey extension that offered improved comfort, better energy efficiency and a more practical family living space.
The original conservatory suffered from temperature extremes and limited usability outside the warmer months. Our solution was a single-storey extension built using high-performance SIPs, delivering excellent insulation, airtightness and long-term durability.
Installed on engineered galvanised ground screws, the build minimised disruption while providing a robust foundation system. Externally, composite vertical slatted cladding in a rich dark tone was selected to complement the existing brickwork while giving the extension a modern, architectural identity.
Powder-coated aluminium sliding doors span the rear elevation, creating a strong visual and physical connection between the new living space and the garden.
Inside, the extension centres around a bright, open-plan living area designed for everyday family use. Large sliding doors flood the space with natural light and open views across the garden.
A triple-glazed skylight positioned above the living area introduces daylight deep into the extension and enhances the sense of openness throughout the day. Smooth plastered walls and ceilings, recessed LED lighting and herringbone-style LVT flooring complete the interior, creating a refined finish that blends naturally with the existing home.
